IHRA Promotes Doug Foley Jr. To COO

FAIRFIELD, Ohio — The International Hot Rod Association has promoted Doug Foley Jr. to Chief Operating Officer of Drag Racing, expanding his leadership role within the organization as IHRA continues to grow its national racing programs and strengthen relationships with racers and tracks across the country.

Doug Foley Jr., who has already been actively involved in IHRA operations, brings a deep understanding of the organization and the sport to the position. A second-generation drag racer with lifelong roots in the racing community, he has been immersed in drag racing through competition, team operations, and the business side of the sport.

Doug Foley Jr. is a multi-time six-figure winner in big-money bracket racing, highlighted by victories at the $300,000 St. Patrick’s Day and the $130,000 Firecracker Bracket Nationals. His accomplishments on the track reflect the experience he brings to his expanded role within the International Hot Rod Association

In his new role, Doug Foley Jr. will oversee the operational execution of IHRA’s drag racing programs, working closely with tracks, racers, and event teams to ensure successful national events while continuing to build and grow IHRA’s drag racing platform.

“Doug Foley Jr. has grown up in this sport and understands it from every perspective as a racer, as part of a team, and as someone who truly cares about the future of drag racing,” said Leah Martin, President of IHRA. “Having already been part of the IHRA team, he brings valuable insight into our racers, our tracks, and the direction we are building for the future.”

Doug Foley Jr. said he is honored to take on the expanded role.

“Drag racing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember,” said Doug Foley Jr. “Being part of IHRA and helping build the future of drag racing alongside our racers, tracks, and partners is something I’m incredibly proud of. I’m excited to continue working with the team as we grow the sport together.”
