MILAN, Mich. — Jason Harris kept up the momentum by setting quick time Friday at the IHRA Pro Mod Mania at Darana Dragway, Milan.
Harris, who won the Pro Mod class at the last IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series race at Hebron, Ohio, followed it up with a 3.590-second run at 209.99 mph during Friday’s qualifying at the Michigan drag strip. Randy Weatherford was second quick at 3.602 seconds and 209.21.
Paige Coughlin was third at 3.606 seconds and with the second fastest speed 209.79 mph. The racers will compete for a $275,000-plus purse on Saturday.
The Run What Ya Brung class had quick times with a 3.708-second pass at 198.06 mph. Matt Albright qualified second at 3.834 seconds and 180.58 mph. Dan Ostgen was the best in All Motor at 5.130 seconds and 139.28 mph. Kevin Cody had the next best time at 5.143 seconds and 137.11 mph.
The event also featured the Mountain Motor Pro Stocks. Jerry Tucker set quick time at 4.071 seconds and 178.01 mph, and Jeremy Huffman was second quick at 4.106 seconds and 175.37 mph.
Dwayne Gallogly was the only Top Sportsman driver in the three-second range. He finished in 3.945 seconds at 189.55 mph. Bob Mandell III hit 179.93 mph on a 4.074-second pass.
Nicole Liberty celebrated her time of 4.226 seconds and 167.29 mph in Outlaw 632. David Fallon had the second-quick time at 4.267 seconds, but was a mph faster than Liberty.
Glenn Pushis was the fastest in the Ultra Street class at 4.553 seconds and 156.90 mph. Blake Molnar got down the drag strip in 4.694 seconds and 148.81 mph. William Edwards paced the Open Comp class at 10.068 seconds at 137.74 mph, over his dial-in time by .001 seconds. Jordan Odoms was next at 10.397 seconds and 128.53 mph, .002 over his time.
Jay Trisel topped the Limited Drag Radial class at 3.935 seconds and 185.80 mph. Scotty Goss was next at 4.050 seconds and 183 mph. Glenn Pushis was the fastest in the US 235-8.5 class at 4.553 seconds and 156.90 mph. Blake Molnar got down the drag strip in 4.694 seconds and 148.81 mph.
