Brittany Force is this week’s Sealed Under Pressure Presented By Cometic Gasket Spotlight driver.
Speed has not been a problem for Brittany Force this season, but winning had eluded the two-time NHRA Top Fuel champion.
On Sunday at New England Dragway, with her father and team owner John Force present, the 38-year-old second-generation racer used speed to propel her to her first win of the season.
Force used a pair of 340-mph runs, including one in the final round, which allowed her to run down point leader Tony Stewart and secure the victory in the final feet of the run.
It was Force’s 18th career victory and it tied her with the legendary Shirley Muldowney for the most victories by a female Top Fuel driver.
Other winners in NHRA action at the New Hampshire drag strip were J.R. Todd in Funny Car and Greg Anderson in Pro Stock.
