Every December the racing world converges on the famed Allen County War Memorial Coliseum for two nights of midget racing on a tight, seventh-mile race track on the floor of the historic venue.
The 27 th edition of the Rumble In Fort Wayne saw a format change, which called for Saturday night’smain event to run 100 laps in distance for the first time in two decades.
Ohio driver Cap Henry, who won 17 winged sprint car features this season, started from the
pole and controlled the race from outset. Driving the No. 41 machine entered by Joe Liguori Racing, Henry led every lap and held off his car owner Joe Ligouri, who started fifth, over the closing laps.
It was the second Rumble in Fort Wayne victory for HenryRuss Gamester and Ricky Peterson Jr. won Friday night’s twin 30-lap qualifying features.
