Oswego Classic
When Oswego Speedway’s season gets underway in May, the calendar will have marked more than a year and a half since a competitive event was held at the track. 
One of the many short-track open-wheel racers who went on to race Indy cars during the 1960s and 70s, Todd Gibson died on Dec. 1. He was 83 years old.
Due to ongoing New York State COVID-19 restrictions, and the latest extension of executive order 202.32, Oswego Speedway management has decided to call off the 64th edition of Budweiser International Classic Weekend, which was slated for Sept. 4-6.
New York State has again extended executive order 202.3 on public gatherings until Aug. 20, thus forcing Oswego Speedway to cancel events originally scheduled for the Aug. 1, Aug. 8 and Aug. 15 of the coming month. 
Over the weekend, the New York State Governor’s office issued its latest update to the executive order regarding race tracks operating with fans in attendance, now barring entry for spectators through Sunday, Aug. 2.
Shullick Paces Oswego
Dave Shullick Jr. posted the top overall lap time of the seven Novelis Supermodifieds that participated in track testing at Oswego Speedway between June 26 and June 29.
Oswego Speedway has canceled its three-division July 4 racing program
Thursday afternoon, Governor Cuomo announced the New York on pause social distancing restrictions would remain in place until at least May 15, prompting Oswego Speedway officials to make the difficult decision to cancel May events.
Oswego Classic
Built in 1951 by the trio of Harry, George and William Caruso, Oswego Speedway started its life as the Wine Creek Horse Track.
17-Year-Old Thompson
Oswego Speedway officials have released the track's 70th anniversary schedule, which will begin with a Memorial Weekend special on Saturday, May 23 and will be capped by Budweiser Classic Week 64 from Sept. 4-6.
