Despite a challenging week of racing at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway, David Gravel remains on top of the National Sprint Car Rankings this week.
Eighty-five drivers have now reached the required 20 starts to be eligible for the National Sprint Car Rankings and Kings Royal winner Anthony Macri has become the first driver to reach 50 starts.
At 50 starts, a driver can begin dropping up to 15 of his worst finishes.
Gravel has an average finish of 3.628 in 43 starts.
Ohio sprint car racer Cap Henry is currently second with a 4.8 average finish.
Kyle Larson, who won the Joker’s Jackpot at Eldora, now ranks third with an average finish of 5.357.
Pennsylvania driver A.J. Flick and Rico Abreu, who earned his 10th win of the season Friday at Eldora, complete the top five.
D.J. Netto has taken control in the Western region and Joe B. Miller now leads the Mid-America stanza.
Macri (Eastern), Henry (Great Lakes), Ryan Timms (Great Plains), A.J. Flick (PA-OH) and Jesse Schlotfeldt (Northwestern) retained their regional leads.
One hundred and 13 drivers have combined to win 266 features thus far this season.
Gravel and Abreu lead the nation with 10 victories each.
