Open Wheel Showdown — 249 Entries, 111 Sprint Cars

LAS VEGAS — Seven months ahead of the fourth running of the Open Wheel Showdown (Nov. 5-7) at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the event has received 249 entries across six classes.

More than 100 sprint cars are currently entered in the prestigious event, with 61 in the headlining winged sprint car class, which will battle for the $50,000 top prize. Nine more entries are available in the class.

Headlining the entered drivers are two-time Showdown winner Kody Swanson and inaugural Showdown victory Aaron Willison. The entry list also includes promoter Davey Hamilton Jr., Bettis, Roahrig, Santos, Dakoda Armstrong, Michael Lewis and Evan Margeson.

The non-winged sprint car class has sold out at 50 entries meaning a total of 111 sprint cars are set for competition at the three-eighths-mile asphalt track.

Non-winged competitors registered include Ryan Newman, Bobby Santos, Kody Swanson, Tyler Roahrig, Jake Trainor, Kyle O’Gara and Colton Bettis.

The open wheel modified class is sold out at 60 entries and the supermodified division has reached its limit of 25.

Legend cars are currently at 33 entries with 17 available, while 20 Bandoleros have entered with 15 spots available.
