Macri Is Early Sprint Car Rankings Leader

With the start of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season at Volusia Speedway Park, the Sprint Car Rankings for 410 sprint car racing have opened their 18th season.

Commissioned by Tom Deery and Brian Carter in 2009, the Sprint Car Rankings are administered by longtime racing official Gary Spaid.

Regional rankings are tracked with the Eastern region opening this past weekend. Six more regions will follow over the coming weeks and months.

The National Sprint Car Rankings will begin when drivers start to reach the 20-start mark, which is required to be eligible for the National rankings. David Gravel finished on top last season.

With three races run at Volusia and three different winners, Anthony Macri, the winner on Saturday night, is the early leader in the Eastern region. Carson Macedo, Buddy Kofoid, Logan Schuchart and Donny Schatz complete the top five.

Kofoid and Spencer Bayston also won features on opening weekend at Volusia.
