TULSA, Okla. — Just when you think there can’t be any more Micros, a few more show up, and with the entry deadline passing, the number of entries in the 41st annual Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy has rocketed to an unimaginable 1,939.
Set during the 2025 event, the previous record of entries received was 1,855, with 1,798 drawing in.
“I think back to when we ran the Karts, Quads, Bikes and Micros, and getting 1,000 entries was pretty normal since we had over 20 classes racing, but I never imagined when we changed the event to focus on the Micros that it was going to get this big, and I am very grateful for it,” stated event founder Emmett Hahn.
Among those ready to battle at the “Mecca of Micros” is Kyle Larson, who, in an interview with FloRacing this week, explained his travel plans from Australia, where he will be competing with the Kubota High Limit Racing, to be part of the Sawyer Chassis Winged Outlaw ranks. Children Owen and Audrey will also be in competition.
Talking further with Emmett and referencing Kyle planning to be a part of the event, Hahn stated, “That right there shows what this event is about. Getting to race, and do it with your kids, and it’s not just Kyle. I see it all over that pit area, and well, in our office. Just like those parents racing with their kids, my kids, and now even my grandkids are involved with the Shootout and the Chili Bowl.”
Class counts going into the annual Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy shows Joe’s Racing Products Stock Non-Wing and JST Motorsports A-Class with the most at 460 each.
Hyper Racing Non-Wing Outlaw at 412 entries, is followed by Sawyer Chassis Winged Outlaw at 270, then K&B Motorsports Restricted at 208, and finally Flying A Motorsports Junior Sprints at 129.
Anyone wanting to enter must do so at the event on Saturday, December 27, starting at Noon.
The Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy begins with Practice on December 29, followed by racing December 30 through January 3 at the SageNet Center at Expo Square.
