Hank Davis Wins In ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints Competition

TUSCUMBIA, Ala. — Making the trip from Oklahoma worth the miles, Hank Davis parked the Oklahoma Chiller No. 1H on the frontstretch with the ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints at North Alabama Speedway on Friday night.

Collecting $2,000 for his efforts, the win is Davis’ first visit to victory lane this season and his first with the series.

To the lead from the start, the Sand Springs native was challenged twice, with Sammy Swindell up first to take the lead on laps five and six. Back to the point on lap seven, Dale Howard, from ninth, would make his presence known as he raced by to lead lap 15, but a slip off the backstretch would allow Davis to reclaim the top spot.

Putting Tennessee’s Landon Britt in the hunt, the No. 10 would end up settling for a seventh to second run. Ohio’s Max Stambaugh rolled from 10th to third, followed by Dale Howard from ninth. Mississippi’s Brad Bowden made up the top five.
