NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Jade Avedisian won Saturday night’s super late model feature during the 60th World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smryna Speedway.
It was only the second super late model start for the 22-year-old California native, who is a graduate of dirt midget racing.
Driving the No. 24 Donnie Wilson Motorsports Toyota, Avedisian took the lead from Casey Roderick with five laps remaining and drove on to victory on the half-mile asphalt track.
The win came after her team repaired her car over night from damage suffered in Friday night’s opener.
The race was a precursor to Tuesday night’s ASA STARS National Tour event and featured a star-studded lineup of super late model racers.
Dawson Sutton finished second in a Rackley WAR late model, while Spencer Davis, Roderick and Michael Hinde completed the top five.
