Thornton Stops Harrison For Dome Modified Prize

ST. LOUIS — Ricky Thornton Jr. was the class of the field in winning the modified portion of the ninth annual Kubota Gateway Dirt Nationals inside The Dome at America’s Center.

Thornton, who won Thursday’s preliminary feature, started on the pole and held off Friday night winner Mike Harrison throughout the 30-lap event on the fifth-mile temporary dirt track.


Carlos Ahumada Jr. finished third, with Tyler Peterson racing from 10th to finish fourth. Ryan Ayers completed the top five.
