Anthony Macri is changing the narrative about Central Pennsylvania based sprint car drivers and teams.
Macri, who won the Kings Royal at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway last July, has added Florida to his list of conquests outside the Keystone state.
Driving his family-owned No. 39m winged sprint car, raced from fourth starting spot to win Saturday night’s 25-lap World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series feature during the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.
Macri earned $20,000 after beating World of Outlaws regular Carson Macedo to the checkered flag on the third and final night of winged sprint car action at the half-mile track.
Macri finished third and fourth on the first two nights of competition, which was enough to earn him the Big Gator trophy as the top driver over three nights.
Spencer Bayston and Buddy Kofoid also won features.
