Wild West Shootout Set To Begin

VADO, N.M. — The 18th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout kicked off Friday with practice for all divisions.

The super late models headline the event, which is scheduled for races on Jan. 6, Jan. 7, Jan. 10, Jan. 12-13.

More than $250,000 is on the line in the super late model division at the three-eighths-mile track. The first five features will pay $11,000 to win, while the Jan. 14 finale pays the winner $26,000.

Among those making practice laps on Friday were Kyle Larson Jimmy Mars, Ricky Thornton Jr., Mike Marlar, Bobby Pierce, Shannon Babb, Drake Troutman

Modifieds and X-mods complete the card.
