SWEETWATER, Tenn. — Dale McDowell took round one of the Easter weekend tripleheader for the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals late models Thursday night at I-75 Raceway.
McDowell, who started fourth, rode past early leader Hudson O’Neal on lap 17 and led the remainder of the 40-lap main event.
O’Neal banked $5,053 for beating O’Neal to the checkered flag by .721 seconds.
Sam Seawright finished third, with Michael Leach and Mike Marlar completing the top five.
O’Neal was the fast qualifier for the 28-car field with a lap of 13.528 seconds.
