BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It was a winning night for the Harvick family Saturday night at Kern County Raceway.
Racing against one another in CARS Tour West pro late model competition, both Kevin Harvick and his son Keelan earned victories.
Kevin Harvick was the leader at the 75-lap point in the 150-lap race and was credited with a victory. Keelan Harvick won the second 75-lap race in spectacular fashion.
Keelan Harvick started on the pole for the first race and led until a lap-40 competition caution. Kevin Harvick grabbed the lead on the restart and led until the halfway break.
The elder Harvick was showing the way in the nightcap when with five laps to go, Jacob Gomes made a move for the lead and slid up the track into Kevin Harvick. The two crashed and collected Buddy Shepherd and Jace Hale.
Keelan Harvick inherited the lead and traded the lead with Kenna Mitchell over the final six laps before taking the checkered flag out front.
It was a family celebration in victory lane at the end of the night.
