Hailie Deegan and AM Racing have parted ways, the NASCAR Xfinity Series team announced Monday morning.
The news comes after Deegan was replaced by two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano in this past weekend’s race at the Chicago Street Course. Logano finished eighth in the event.
“AM Racing and Hailie Deegan have decided to part ways, effective immediately,” a team statement read. “We are grateful for Hailie’s contributions and dedication as the driver of the No. 15 Ford Mustang during her time with the race team. We wish Hailie the best in her future endeavors and look forward to her continued success on and off the track.”
Prior to Chicago, Deegan piloted the No. 15 Ford in the first 17 Xfinity Series races of the season. The 22-year-old was 27th in the standings with a best finish of 12th at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.
Deegan released a statement on social media following the news.
“There are always several reasons within a race team as to why things do or do not work, but sadly our goals no longer align,” the statement read.
AM Racing has not revealed a replacement driver for the remainder of the season.
