DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Austin Hill has won the pole for this afternoon’s United Rentals 300 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
Driving the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, Hill turned a lap of 49.39 seconds at 182.223 mph to earn his third pole in 10 races at the 2.5-mile superspeedway.
Hill will share the front row with teammate Jesse Love, who was .017 seconds slower.
Sam Mayer will start third in Haas Factory Chevrolet, while William Sawalich earned the fourth spot in a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.
Mayer’s teammate, Sheldon Creed, claimed the fifth spot.
Sprint car graduate Corey Day starts sixth in a Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.
