LaJoie Joins Kaulig Truck Series Team

WELCOME, N.C. — Corey LaJoie is joining Kaulig Racing’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team for the rest of the season, while Daniel Dye has left the team.

Dye, who was reinstated by NASCAR this week after having been suspended for making insensitive remarks at public event, has opted to go in a different direction.

LaJoie will pilot the No. 10 Kaulig Ram 1500 beginning Friday at Rockingham Speedway in North Carolina. LaJoie had been scheduled to race the team’s No. 25 Ram 1500 in Rockingham as part of Ram’s Free Agent Driver Program but will now transition to the team’s No. 10 entry for the remainder of the season.

Ty Dillon, one of Kaulig Racing’s full-time NASCAR Cup Series drivers, will drive the No. 25 truck in Rockingham, marking his second race in the Free Agent Driver Program.

LaJoie said he is ready to return to full-time racing while lending his veteran experience in helping a manufacturer build a program.

“The last couple months I’ve missed the grind of working towards a goal of success on track. There’s certainly a lot of work ahead of us getting our Ram trucks to a place where we compete for wins but with the people in the Kaulig Racing building, I believe we will get there” said Lajoie, who was positioned for a top-10 finish at Darlington Raceway in Ram’s Free Agent No. 25 before a late-race incident saddled him with a 21st place finish.

“I really appreciate the confidence Kaulig Racing and Ram have in me. I have been a part of building a couple teams from the ground up and getting success and I will bring that experience to help Kaulig get to their potential on a quicker path. I love what Kaulig and Ram are doing to promote the Truck series and the sport. It will be a fun challenge to be a part of.”

Dye, meanwhile, posted a lengthy statement on social media regarding his future.

“After a lot of hones self-reflection and guidance from mentors I trust, I have decided the smartest move for my career is to realign my focus on my long-term objective of becoming a successful driver at the highest level of stock car racing,” Dye said. “Now that I am reinstated, I’m optimistic about what the future holds and look forward to working hard at my next opportunity.”
