Garcia Sets Rockingham Track Record

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — Jake Garcia won the pole for Friday afternoon’s Black’s Tire 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Rockingham Speedway.

During a session that was delayed briefly by rain midday, Garcia drove the No. 98 ThorSport Ford to a lap of 21.893 seconds at an average speed of 154.570 mph to establish a track record for the Truck Series.

Garcia outran Toyota driver Tanner Gray by .208 seconds to earn his second pole of the season and the fifth of his career. Garcia also won the pole last year at Rockingham.

TRICON Garage Toyota driver Kaden Honeycutt will start third, with Garcia’s ThorSport teammate Cole Butcher fourth.

Layne Riggs goes fifth in a Front Row Motorsports Ford.

Justin Carroll and Jonathan Shafer failed to qualify for the 36-truck field.
