ENSENADA, Mexico — Dakar Rally legend Toby Price claimed victory in the Method Race Wheels Qualifying for the 6th SCORE Baja 400.
Driving the No. 46 Chevy Silverado Mason AWD Team Australia, Price topped the charts as part of Round 3 of the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship.
Price completed the 3.3-mile qualifying course in 3 minutes and 56 seconds, securing pole position for Mason Motorsports in all three SCORE races this season. Gustavo ‘Tavo’ Vildosola previously won the Method Race Wheels Qualifying at the King Shocks 38th SCORE San Felipe 250, while Christopher Polvoorde set the fastest time in qualifying at the BFGoodrich 57th SCORE Baja 500.
With this result, Price will start at the front of the SCORE Trophy Truck field—and overall among the four-wheeled vehicles — this Saturday, September 13. He will once again team up with fellow Australian Paul Weel in pursuit of their first overall win in the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship.
Alan Ampudia, Ensenada, Mexico, posted the second-fastest qualifying time at the Rancho Grijalva race course in Ojos Negros, clocking in at 4 minutes and 2 seconds behind the wheel of his No. 10 Ford Raptor Mason AWD Papas and Beer. Ampudia currently leads the SCORE Trophy Truck standings after the first two rounds of the season with 228 points.
Christopher Polvoorde, Heber, Utah, recorded the third-fastest time in Method Race Wheels Qualifying, finishing in 4 minutes and 3 seconds in his No. 94 Mason AWD Ford Raptor, powered by Optima Batteries, Ford and AutoZone.
Ricky Johnson, El Cajon, Calif. was the fastest in the SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class and seventh overall, driving the No. 1L Ford Raptor Mason Vildosola Racing. He will team up with Gustavo Vildosola Sr. Mexicali, Mexico, to tackle the grueling 427.64-mile race course.
Johnson’s official time was 4 minutes and 8 seconds. He will be aiming for his 15th consecutive win in the SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class—reserved for drivers aged 50 and over. Johnson will start the race on Saturday, September 13, from Ensenada’s Boulevard Costero, handing the wheel over to “Gus” Vildosola Sr. at race mile 250.
Mikey Lawrence posted the fastest time in the SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD division, finishing in 4 minutes and 14 seconds at the helm of his No. 85T Ford Raptor 1 Nine Industries Lawrence Motorsports.
Jason McNeil, El Cajon, Calif. secured pole position in the Trophy Truck Spec class during Method Race Wheels Qualifying. In a tightly contested battle with Justin Davis and Mike Marsal, McNeil recorded a time of 4 minutes, 17.247 seconds in his No. 234 Ford Raptor TSCO Racing Fiberwerx Racing.
In Class 1, Cody Parkhouse, Long Beach, Calif. led the field with a time of 4 minutes and 25 seconds on the 3.3-mile course.
