GLORY DAYS: Shuman Rules Terre Haute

Ron Shuman drove Lloyd Stephens’ No. 21 sprint car past Larry Rice on the final lap to win the USAC/CRA National Sprint Car Challenge Series race at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track on May 4, 1985.

Shuman started 12th in the 22-car field and steadily worked his way to the front, stealing the point on the final lap and winning his second non-winged sprint car feature of the weekend.

Sheldon Kinser finished second, with Rice claiming third in the 30-lap event on the historic half-mile track.
