IRWINDALE, Calif. – Irwindale Speedway has announced the venue will postpone all events through the end of March.
The postponement comes in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic across the United States and the rest of the world.
“Our number one priority is always the safety or our fans, staff and competitors here at Irwindale Speedway and Irwindale Dragstrip,” said Irwindale Speedway & Event Center President Tim Huddleston. “Following a directive from the California Governor’s Office regarding restricting gatherings of 250 or more people, along with the precautionary action taken by other venues across the country this past week, we feel the appropriate response is to postpone all activities through the end of March. This was a difficult decision to make, but we feel it was the best course of action for everyone involved. As we look towards our great schedule of events in April and beyond, we ask for patience and understanding from all of our wonderful fans and competitors during this process.
“Our thoughts right now are with the Southern California community as we navigate these trying times, but we look forward to seeing everyone in April as we return to action at Irwindale Speedway & Irwindale Dragstrip.”
