BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame officials have named race track operator Tim Huddleston and Southern California financial advisory Jim Regitz to the organization’s Board of Directors.
Their election increases the board’s current membership to 24.
Ken Clapp, the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame Chairman and CEO, said the newest members of the board add qualities and experience necessary to meet current and future challenges.
“It’s extremely important to add the expertise of Tim Huddleston, a current race promoter and entertainment producer,” he said. “Jim Regitz’ broad experience in wealth management and charitable activities enhances the bedrock of the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame in the area of giving to worthwhile causes.”
Huddleston, president of the famed Irwindale Speedway and Event Center, partnered with West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee Bob Bruncati and his wife Maureen to take over operation of the Southern California entertainment complex in 2018. His wife, Lisa, also is a partner in the Irwindale enterprise.
Huddleston began his racing career in 1987, as a student at University High School in Los Angeles as part of an auto shop project. He was selected to drive the student-built street stock at the old Saugus Speedway. In 2000, Huddleston began competing in the Late Model Division at Irwindale, collecting three championships and more than 40 main event victories.
His High Point Racing team has become one the premier driver development teams on the West Coast, fielding cars in Pro Late Models, Super Late Models and the ARCA Menards Series West. HPR alumni include NASCAR Cup Series driver Cole Custer and Xfinity Series veterans Ryan Reed and Dylan Lupton.
Huddleston’s son, Trevor Huddleston, is a 10-time late model champion and current competitor and race winner in the ARCA Menards Series West.
