Berry Banks $10,000 Skagit Modified Prize

ALGER, Wash. — The third annual Skagit Aggregates Survive the 55 for IMCA Modifieds saw Tom Berry Jr. take home $10,000 in a thrilling A Main event.

Trey Starks was the winner of a fantastic 360 Sprint main event as the support division.

In the early stages of the 55-lap main event, Nick Trenchard held the top spot, keeping Berry at bay while Kyle Strickler found his rhythm in the third spot. Berry would slip past Trenchard on lap twenty for the lead with Strickler following in short order.

The race went to lap 30 with a single caution flag before the planned break, with Strickler closing hard on Berry just before the break began. After the caution, Berry maintained solid control, only allowing Strickler to close the few times the pair approached traffic.

Three cautions slowed the final 25 laps of the main, with Berry taking advantage of the restart each time to pull away from Strickler as he would take the win and the $10,000 top prize.

Strickler was second with Trenchard coming out on top of a through battle for the final podium spot. Ty Clemens and Collen Winebarger rounded out the top five.
