PETALUMA, Calif. – Petaluma Speedway promoter Rick Faeth has successfully negotiated an additional year to his contract to keep the track open until at least the end of 2023.
The Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds, owned by the city of Petaluma, has been a source of discussions regarding the track’s future and the potential for the city deciding to develop the property.
All season track officials knew of the possibility that 2022 could be the track’s last season. All the business on the property are facing the same situation if the fairgrounds shut down at the end of next year.
“I’m going to stick it out here and do my best to keep this facility open,” said Faeth.
