Webb Earns First DIRTcar Victory At Can Am

LA FARGEVILLE, N.Y. – Derek Webb headlined the winners at Can Am Speedway on Friday night, scoring his first victory in the 358 Modified division.

At the drop of the green flag, Cameron Black lead the opening 3 laps, until Jack Meeks made the charge to the front, taking the lead on lap 4 with Taylor Caprara moving to second.

As the lap clicked off Derek Webb was on the move as he climbed to the third spot and then chased down the top two drivers. Just past halfway, Webb continued his march forward as he took second from Taylor Caprara, then ran down Jack Meeks.

On lap 18 Webb made his move, taking the top spot away from Jack Meeks. As the laps wound down Derek Webb charged to a big lead, and without the assistance of a yellow flag, Taylor Caprara and the rest of the field had no chance to catch the leader.

Derek Webb would finally live his dream as a DIRTcar 358 Modified winner at Can Am, in the 830th Modified feature ever held at the speedway. Taylor Caprara held on for second with Tim Fuller coming from 21st to third. Jack Meeks and Tyler Meeks completed the top-five.

In the Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman it turned out to be a family affair, with Owen Nier earning his second win of the year over brother Keegan.

Gavin Eisle would score the victory in the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTcar Sportsman feature over Mike Fowler.

In the 15-lap Panther Frameworx Crate Sprints, Logan Crisafulli finally put a perfect night together, to score his first Crate Sprint Car win at Can Am.

Jock Symonds earned his first win of the season in the Marsha Gibbons TLC Real Estate Thundercar feature.
