PELETIER, N.C. – Mother Nature has once again won out at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway.
Saturday’s planned season opener, which would have featured 10 races, has been pushed back once more due to a forecast for rain all afternoon and into the evening Saturday.
“It is with great regret that we have to pull the plug on this weekend’s race,” track owner Bob Lowery said. “We’re ready to get back to racing but once again, Mother Nature will not cooperate with us. With rain expected later today and all day tomorrow, we didn’t see an opportunity to get this race in.”
The newest date for the 2020 season opener will be announced later.
