NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – Brad May and Patrick Emerling ruled night seven of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing on Thursday at New Smyrna Speedway.
May raced to his second victory of the week in the super late model division, leading the entire 35-lap distance. He did have to survive a restart with five laps left, but held on to collect the victory.
Derek Griffith was second at the checkered flag, followed by Jesse Love, Ryan Moore and Sammy Smith.
Emerling, meanwhile, earned his first victory of the week in the tour-type modified division. He took the lead on lap six and led the rest of the 35-lap feature en route to the victory.
He did have to survive a restart with three laps left, but Emerling bested polesitter Jimmy Blewett to hang on to the victory. Blewett settled for second ahead of Matt Hirschman, Craig Lutz and Eric Goodale.
In pro late model competition, Jamie Skinner earned his second-straight victory. Travis Eddy was victorious in the Florida Modified class.
One night remains in the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing. Griffith currently leads the super late model standings, Hirschman leads the tour-type modified rankings, Connor Mosack is on top of the pro late model standings and Eddy leads the Florida Modified rankings.
