NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Matt Hirschman won his third consecutive tour-type modified feature during the 55th World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing on Friday night at New Smryna Speedway.
And it was a big one at that, as Hirschman held off Jimmy Blewett to win the Richie Evans Memorial 100. It was Hirschman’s fourth victory of the week that also included the John Blewett III Memorial and the NASCAR Modified Tour opener.
Despite his success, a 12th-place finish on Monday night kept him from winning the World Series title. That honor went to Blewett, who finished second or third in all five features.
Patrick Emerling finished third on Friday, with Teddy Hodgdon and Craig Lutz rounding out the top five.
Kaden Honeycutt topped the Hart to Heart 100 for the pro late models, beating William Sawalich to the checkered flag.
Seventeen-year-old Michael Hinde came back from a hard crash on Thursday night to finish fourth and capture the pro late model championship for the World Series after he had won three of the first five events.
Derek Pugh won the pro truck feature.
