JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – Coastal Plains Raceway is set to make its season debut in a big way with a New Years Day event.
Race fans are in for a treat as they will have the opportunity to enjoy both drag racing and stock car racing simultaneously.Â
“We are very excited to welcome in the New Year by going racing,” stated Dragway Manager Charles Myers. “Racing on both tracks at the same time is not something that happens often, but it really makes for a special day for our fans.”Â
Coastal Plains Dragway will feature some of the best grassroots drag racing in North Carolina by running bracket classes such as Top Eliminator, Footbrake Eliminator, and Jr. Dragsters. Gates for the Dragway will open at 10am with time trials and racing starting at 11am.Â
The circle track at CPRP, also known as Goodyear All American Speedway, will feature short track racing at its finest with classes such as Bandolero, Mini Stock, Super Truck, and even a special race for the ladies.
Grandstands will open at 12:30 p.m. with the green waving dropping at 2 p.m.
