NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — William Byron did it again on Tuesday night at New Smyrna Speedway.
After winning Monday night’s super late model feature, Byron returned to the seat of the No. 24 late model and claimed the Cllyde Hart Memorial that opened the season for the ASA Southern Super Series.
The event was the headliner on night five of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.
Byron started 10th, but steadily worked his way through the field to take the lead on lap 55. He paced the remainder of the 100-lap event for his second victory in as many nights.
The Hendrick Motorsports NASCAR Cup Series driver earned $10,000 for the victory.
Jake Finch came home second, while Casey Roderick took third, ahead of Connor Mosack and Gio Ruggiero.
Matt Hirschman controlled the Tour-type modified division for the second consecutive night, claiming the feature ahead of Patrick Emerling, Eric Goodale, Anthony Bello and Ronnie Williams.
Luke Baldwin won the 602 modified feature.
