Mountain Creek Speedway has added 600, 270cc and 600 Restricted Micro Sprints to the schedule at Mountain Creek Speedway.
This decision comes on the heels of the many improvements the track has undergone in the past three seasons culminating with the final addition of the popular open wheel race cars.
“The fences are going up,” said track owner and promoter, Adam Stewart. “Heck, it’s just more of the changes we’ve been doing around here to add the micros. This is something we’ve been working towards and I’m excited to see the type of racing it brings to Mountain Creek Speedway.”
New to the facility, 18-foot tall catch fencing is going around the track, along with safety cabling.
New corner lights and improved fire suppression systems will also be added features to give the competitors a safer place to race.
“It’s the culmination of three years worth of work,” said PR director, Derek Pernesiglio. “Adam, Rebecca and I talked baby steps since the inception of this idea. We knew it wasn’t going to happen right away. With the new steel walls, the catch fencing, live streaming and the other amenities they’ve added, we felt the time was right to finally bring in the micros.”
The micro sprint classes will be added to the already popular Sunday outlaw kart schedule of racing. The race for the very first 600 Micro Sprint Championship begins on April 2.
