COLUMBUS, Miss. – Jimmy Owens dominated Friday’s 40-lap super late model feature at Magnolia Motor Speedway to take home a $5,000 payday.
Owens took the lead on the second lap from Payton Looney and led the rest of the distance, beating Timothy Culp to the checkered flag by more than three seconds.
The victory came in Owens’ first start since the COVID-19 virus brought racing to a stop in mid-March.
Dennis Erb Jr. finished a distant third, followed by Ashton Winger and Rusty Schlenk.
Looney, Schlenk, Culp and Michael Arnold were the heat race winners. Jonathan Davenport and Neil Baggett won the two B-Main races.
Rick Rickman set fast time in qualifying with a 13.183-second lap.
