AUSTIN, Texas – Circuit of the Americas officials have confirmed the Texas facility has closed down amid concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
As a result, a number of staff members have been laid off by the facility according to multiple media reports.
The coronavirus outbreak has led to the postponement of the track’s MotoGP event until Nov. 15. The race was originally scheduled for April 5. The NTT IndyCar Series race that was scheduled for April 26 has been cancelled outright.
The inability for the facility to hold races or any other event, such as concerts, has led to the downsizing in staff and the closure of the facility for the time being.
