DAVENPORT, Iowa — Andy Nezworski topped the headlining IMCA late model feature during Friday night’s season opener at Davenport Speedway.
Nezworski grabbed the lead from the pole and led throughout despite a late race challenge from Chuck Hanna in the 25-lap event.
Hanna finished second, ahead of Justin Kay, Matt Ryan and Fred Remley.
Spencer Diercks led flag-to-flag in the Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified main. Diercks started on the outside pole and went directly to the top of the racetrack. The only thing to slow Spencer down was the four caution flags.
Five different drivers took a turn at the runner-up spot. Mitch Morris had second early in the race, fell back a few spots, but rallied back to finish second. Kurt Kile and Travis Denning traded positions several times, before finishing third and fourth respectively. Joe Beal rounded out the top five.
Tyler Soppe dominated the IMCA SportMod main, leading all 15 laps.
Jesse Owen steamed his way to a win in Koehler Electric Street Stock action.
Cyle Hawkins captured the win in the QCjeeps.com Sport Compact feature.
