CORNWALL, Ontario — Corey Wheeler emerged as the winner of the 60-lap modified feature during day two of Fall Showdown Weekend at Cornwall Motor Speedway Saturday evening.
Alan Therrien took the early lead in the 60-lap feature as David Hebert challenged for the lead. The leaders were with slower cars by lap 15. Therrien was soon able to pass Hebert for the lead and held the top spot until a caution flag on lap 33.
During the restart Wheeler went to the lead and pulled away from the battle for second, which saw Therrien battling Steve Bernard for the runner-up spot. Wheeler led the rest of the way to pick up the win, with Bernard coming home second and Therrien third.
In the 100-lap sportsman feature, Cody McPherson survived a late charge from James Friesen to pick up the victory. The 50-lap pro stock main event was won by Jocelyn Roy, Stephane St. Laurent topped the 25-lap lightning sprint feature and Steve Comeau won the 25-lap mini stock main event.
