Shaw Celebrates First Can Am Modified Win

Shaun Shaw was the dominant force in the 25-lap Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTcar 358 Modifieds.

The New York native, took the lead at the drop of the green flag with Ryan Bartlett, R.J. Tressider, Taylor Caprara and Tim Fuller completing the top five.

Shaw built up nearly a full straightaway advantage over Bartlett, while Caprara and Fuller got by Tressider to move into third and fourth and stage their own battle for position.

Fuller would eventually clear Caprara for third, but had a long way to go to catch the leader.

As the laps wound down and the field began to spread out, a caution was about the only way Shaw was going to be caught by the rest of the field.

On this night, it would not happen, as Shaun Shaw became the 4th first time winner of the season, leading all 25 laps. Ryan Bartlett held off Tim Fuller for second with Taylor Caprara and Lance Willix completing the top five. Fuller was officially crowned the 2022 track champion.

Paul DeRuyter would dirve away for his fifth win in the Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman event.

It was all Tucker Donath Panther Frameworx 602 Crate Sprint Car feature, scoring the win from the pole. The first ever track champion in the division would go to Josh Verne Jr.

Over the final laps Tyler Corcoran would hit his marks perfectly and hang on to claim his third win of the year, but more importantly his third straight track title, in the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTcar Sportsman division. He would become the first driver to win three in a row since Steve Hall won the title from 1993-1995.

Francis White would march on to record his second win in a row in the Marsha Gibbons TLC Real Estate Thundercar feature.Â
