STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. — Keith Rocco held off a late-charging Chase Dowling Friday night to win his third SK modified feature of the season at Stafford Speedway.
It was a night of threes as Adam Gray scored his third late model victory and rookie Derek Debbis topped his third SK Light feature.
Andrew Durand took down his fourth limited late model trophy while Chris Meyer was visited victory lane for the first time at Stafford in the street stock feature.
In the 40-lap SK modified feature, Matt Vassar took the early lead with Brian Narducci in second. On lap six, Rocco moved into the top five, and picked off spots quickly. On lap eight, he took the lead with Dowling stalking into the top five.
Rocco took the lead from Tony Membrino Jr. on lap-13 restart. Dowling made a move to pass Rocco on lap 31, but the cars made contact in turn four. Dowling lost momentum and could not get back to Rocco in the closing laps. Rocco grabbed his third victory of the season. Dowling, Kopcki, Williams and Gervais rounded out the top five.
In the 30-lap late model feature, John Blake took the lead at the green with Michael Wray on his outside, and Marc Curtis and Tyler Leary side by side behind them. Cautions for several multi-car accidents slowed the early action. Gray took the lead on second lap-eight restart and beat Tom Fearn and Ryan Fearn to the checkered flag.
During post-race inspection, the cars of both Fearns were found to have illegal brake components. The disqualifications gave second to Michael Bennett with Wray, Paul Varricchio and Duane Provost following.
Andrew Durand won his fourth limited late model feature of the season, taking the lead on lap four. Alexandra Fearn and Matt Clement followed with Jeremy Lavoie and Lucas Leone filling out the top five.
Amanda West took the lead at the start of the 20 lap SK light feature, but Derek Debbis grabbed the top spot on lap nine to capture his third victory of the season.
The street stock feature saw Chris Meyer take the lead on lap three and never look back for his first victory at Stafford. Meghan Fuller was second with Frank L’Etoile, Jr., Corey Fanning and Zack Robinson following.
