Logan Wagner Takes Home Port Royal Prize

PORT ROYAL, Pa. — Logan Wagner charged from his eighth starting position to the win on Saturday night to claim his second win of the season in 410 sprint car competition behind the wheel of the Kreitz Racing 69K.

Jake Karklin and Austin Bishop made up the front row of the 25-lap A-main event, but it was Jeff Halligan who led the opening lap with Logan Wagner making the pass on Bishop for third on lap 2.

Halligan and Wagner were in a class of their own over the next 14 laps, breaking away from the field.

Wagner would make the pass on Halligan in turn 1 with 10 laps remaining and didn’t look back, holding on for over a seven-second win over the rest of the field.

“I felt really good early,” said Wagner in victory lane. “I feel like they keep giving me cars like that, we’re going to keep winning.”

Jeff Halligan held on for second and Jake Karklin rounded out the podium.

Logan Wagner won the Valley Supply hard charger worth $500 and Jake Waters won the J&S Classics Warrior award after the 20 chip was drawn in victory lane and he was the 20th-place finisher.

In Selinsgrove Ford super late model competition, Justin Weaver led from the opening lap to pick up his second straight and second overall win at Port Royal Speedway.

It wouldn’t be without a late challenge though from Colton Flinner who would overtake Weaver with six laps remaining.

His pass wouldn’t hold, however, as heavy lap traffic in front of the leads slowed Flinner enough for Weaver to retake the lead and never look back to hold on for the win.

Flinner finished in 2nd and claimed the night’s Lauver’s Concessions Hard Charger award and Dillan Stake finished in third.

For the Zimmerman Truck Repair limited late models, Shawn Shoemaker led from wire to wire to claim the victory.

Trent Brenneman made a few attempts for the lead on the inside of the corners but couldn’t hold the speed to overtake and Shoemaker claimed his first victory of 2024.

Brenneman held on for second and Ryan Zook rounded out the podium.
