RIVER GLADE, New Brunswick – Logan Power was the first man to the checkered flag during Saturday’s Atlantic Modified Tour CannaConnect 35 at Petty Int’l Raceway.
Power, a former Street Stock champion at the high banked bullring, started seventh in the nine car field and chased down Yves McCray for the win, making the winning move on the outside with five laps to go.
McCray, the reigning Petty Raceway Modified Champion, was second with sophomore driver Travis Conroy finishing third.
For Power, who drove the No. 10 entry for Darrell and Greg Butler, it was a challenge against the top drivers in the Atlantic Modified Tour.
“The drivers in this Series are so strong and competitive, you can’t give these guys an inch or you’ll end up losing it,” said Power in victory lane. “Everyone is so fast, I can’t thank everyone enough for the opportunity.”
In other action, Jordan Veinotte was the winner of the late model sportsman feature. Braden Langille topped the Legends car field, with Michael Cormier claiming top honors in the street stock division.
J.R. Lawson was the winner of the 50-lap special event for the mini stock class. Ashley Campbell was the victor in the special Women on Wheels event. Lastly, Gage Gilby (Bandolero) and Chase Livingston (Beginning Bandoleros) also earned trips to victory lane.
