LA FARGEVILLE, N.Y. — Mother Nature was not a factor at the Can Am Speedway this past Friday night. Drivers in all five classes were happy to be back, along with a grandstand full of excited race fans.
Cameron Black was looking for something good to happen in the Whitesboro Plowshop DIRTCar 358 Modified division. Black led the 25-lap race early with Scott Webb and Preston Forbes right there with him. As the race approached the halfway point Forbes began to move in to challenge Black for the lead while Tim Fuller came from 12th to challenge the top two drivers.
On lap 14, Forbes took the top spot away on the high lane off turn two, while Fuller used the same line in turn four to take second. Over the final laps Fuller gave Forbes all he could handle, but on this night, it was Forbes holding on for his first win of the season with Fuller crossing in second.
Black crossed the finish line in third, his best finish of the year, while Derek Webb and Billy Dunn completed the top five.Â
After a win on June 21, Genavieve Bartlett was out front of the Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman 12-lap feature. The Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman feature went to Dave Rogers.Â
The Sundance Leisure Thundercars feature was won by Corey Valade.Â
