Parker Wheels It At Shady Bowl

DEGRAFF, Ohio — Chris Parker banked the $5,500 Wheelman Series street stock victory that headlined Saturday’s rain-delayed racing program at Shady Bowl Speedway.

Dave Barnhart took the early lead in the race that was scheduled for 50 laps, but gave way to Greg Bernard Jr. after 18 circuits.

Bernard led five laps before Parker moved to the front of the field. Rain came after 28 laps and the race was called official with Parker claiming the victory.

Barnard Jr. finished second, ahead of Buck Purtee, Jeremie Wiggins and Matt Wilson.  

Josh Sage set quick time with a 14.875 lap setting a new Wheelman track record. 

 The Wooten Automotive and Towing of St. Paris Modifieds were also on hand. Chris Parker was fast qualifier with a  13.691-second lap. Kyle Purvis won the dash, with Mike Pippin and Austin Eaton winning heat races. Their feature was also fell victim to the rain.
