KNOXVILLE, Iowa – Thirty-eight drivers across three different divisions participated in Thursday’s opening night of practice at Knoxville Raceway.
The quickest lap of the night unofficially went to Rico Abreu at 15.732 seconds around the half-mile black dirt oval at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
Among the 410 competitors in action alongside Abreu included World of Outlaws rookies Mason Daniel and Wayne Johnson, Hall of Famer Jac Haudenschild and two-time USAC champion Tyler Courtney. McKenna Haase also practiced in a 410 sprint car on Thursday.
In other divisions, Rob Kubli unofficially led the 360 sprint cars with a lap of 16.727 seconds, while the Pro Sprints presented by Pace Performance were headed unofficially by Matthew Johnson with lap of 18.035 seconds.
Another night of practice is scheduled for Friday, June 5, in anticipation of the 67th annual Knoxville Raceway Season Opener presented by Pella Motors and Kraig Ford on Saturday, June 6.
The 410s, 360s and Pro Sprints presented by Pace Performance will all be in action, with hot laps scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
