LIMA, Ohio – Limaland Motorsports Park roared back to life Friday night with the 2nd Annual Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial Race, honoring the memory of one of the tracks biggest supporters in Kahle who passed away in Nov. of 2020.
The Ohio Logistics NRA 360 Sprint Invaders kicked off feature action with Kyle Sauder and Hud Horton leading the field to green. Caution would wave right away as the No. 17 of Jared Horstman got sideways in turns 1 and 2, collecting Devon Dobie, Dan McCarron and Alex Bright.Â
Bright’s car would tip on its side in the pileup, but Bright walked away unharmed. The field would face a restart with Kobe Allison taking off with the lead.Â
Allison would dominate the first half of the feature, and would start to slip thru lapped traffic when the red flag flew for Dobie’s No. 23 as it dug in and flipped in turn 4. Dobie would walk away unharmed.Â
On the restart, Todd Heuerman began to work on Allison for the lead. Allison’s car started bouncing through turns 1 and 2, and that was the break Heuerman needed. Heuerman would grab the lead and cruise to victory. Luke Griffith would charge to 2nd in the last 5 laps, with Jake Hesson 3rd, Allison hanging on to finish 4th, and Zeth Sabo completing the top-five.Â
The Northwest Physical Therapy DIRTcar UMP Modifieds saw Percy Gendreau hold off NASCAR legend Kenny Wallace en route to his first career feature win.Â
The Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks would conclude the nights racing action with Gabe Mueller holding off a hard-charging Nick Bowers. Â
