SEYMOUR, Wis. – Outagamie Speedway’s high-banked three-eighths-mile oval ran four IMCA sanctioned divisions, plus one unsanctioned class, on Friday.
The Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Club is in their fourth year in Seymour and drew 122 entrants.
Formerly a tri-oval, a few years ago the track was reshaped into a traditional layout. When Manitowoc’s track closed, the Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Club moved to Seymour, where a positive relationship with the fairgrounds has flourished.
Street stocks had Wes Lungwitz leading the first five laps before 12th starting Jesse Krahn used the bottom of turns one and two to take over.
Kahn opened a large gap, but Brooke Diefenthaler closed and provided an excellent battle while point leader Krahn was able to hold firm to take the win.
IMCA Northern sport mods ran a non-stop finale and 10th starting Jayden Schmidt used a turn two slider to lead the last six laps for a victory.
The IMCA stock car feature saw Jeremy Christians lead the final 17 laps for his 100th IMCA win. A four-car pack raced for second and Tyler Wendt grabbed the runner-up slot. Christians won from the ninth starting position.
Eddie Muenster led the IMCA modified main the entire distance, making the most of a front row start. Muenster won a late model main the night before on a paved half mile at Wisconsin Int’l Raceway in Kaukauna, Wis.
IMCA sport compacts finished the evening and ninth-starting Jake Peters emerged from a pack if seven cars racing for the lead to get the win.
All divisions ran 20-lap mains and very few yellows saw the five mains completed in about an hour and 15 minutes.
