CLEARFIELD, Pa. — Adam Nixon ended a seven-year dry spell by picking up Friday nights Semi Late Feature at Hidden Valley speedway and became one of three new winners during the night.
Jim Bloom claimed his first win of the season in Penn-Ohio Pro Stocks and Jackson Shugarts picked up his career first win in the Little’s Drive In Junior Four Cylinders.
Repeat winners include Jimmy Holden in the Small Block Modifieds, Tim Steis in the pure stocks and Luke Hoffner in the Little’s Drive In Four Cylinders.
The ATV’s and UTV were also in action with Max Turner in the Junior ATV’s, Shane Wilson in the Modified ATV’s, Pete Martorano in the Stock ATV’s and the UTV winner was Brandan Beck in the Turbo and Garrett Singer of Everette in the UTV Non-Turbo race.
A pair of 47’s led the Semi Late feature to the green flag, with Nixon beating Nate Brady off the line and taking the initial lead. Brady fell into second place with Hoffner, Justin Owens and Gary Little rounding out the top five.
As Nixon continued to lead the battle from second through sixth was exciting to watch, as Little was working his way towards the front, when the caution flew for a spinning Dan Gill, which ended his night.
The restart saw Nixon still in the lead with Brady still in second and Hoffner trying to get around him as Little was now up to fourth behind Hoffner. Lap four saw Hoffner wrestle second away from Brady and Little did the same on lap eight.
By this time, Nixon had opened up a slight lead during the battle for second, but on lap 10, Little dove under Hoffner off the fourth turn and was able to second away from him.
Little then proceeded to reel in the leader, and he got to within a car length of Nixon, but Nixon was able to hold on to end his seven-year drought with the win. Little was a close second, Hoffner was third, Brady held on to fourth and Nike Loffredo was fifth.Â
