MERCER, Pa. — Adam Kekich claimed victory in Saturday’s 410 sprint car event that headlined a night of action at Michaels Mercer Raceway.
Kekich was running third when leader Jack Sodeman Jr. tangled with runner-up Jeremy Kornbau, knocking both drivers out of the race and handing the lead to Kekich.
From there Keikich would race away from the field, defeating Brandon Spithaler by five seconds for his 10th Mercer 410 sprint car victory.
“We were fast. I don’t know if the front two weren’t taken out if we would have won. You had to be in clean air,” said Keikich. “The car wanted to do nasty things tonight, but we hit our marks and held the bottom and it paid off after a long offseason. Anytime Mercer runs the 410s we will be here.”
Greg Wilson finished third in the 410 sprint car class, followed by Bob Felmlee and Kyle Colwell.
In other action, Logan McCandless won for the second time this season in the 305 sprint car class. Eric Gabany led all the way in the 15-lap FASTRAK modified feature and Jacob Wheeler earned his first Mercer win in the mini stock class.
