Four Starts, Four Wins For Shelpman At Pittsburgh

IMPERIAL, Pa. — After nearly a month off due to rain, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway was back in action on Saturday night.

Christian Schneider would win the Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature.

Nick Kocuba would win the Pittsburgh Truck Center Penn Ohio Pro Stock feature, while Joe Jacobs would pick up the win for the Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinders and Gavin Kokolis would pick up win number five on the season for the All Ways Safe Flagging and Traffic Control Young Guns.

Stephen Shelpman would not only win the Australian Pursuit for the Fuel Required Hobby Stocks, but he would also win the Fuel Required Hobby Stock feature.

Natasha Davis started on the pole with Joe Brown Sr. flanked to her outside. Karlee Kovacs started third and Gary Koteles started in fourth. When the green flag waved, Kovacs took the early lead.

However, a lap-two caution would slow the pace and re-rack the field, and when green replaced yellow, Logan Koteles took over the lead. However, that lead was short-lived as Shelpman took over the lead with five laps in the books.

Lap eight saw another caution when the No. 64 of Tom Anton had a right front flat. Shelpman would take the inside on the restart, and despite another caution on lap nine, he would go on to lead all remaining laps in the event to pick up his fourth win in his four starts this season in the Hobby Stock division.

Shelpman led all eight laps and picked up the win ahead of Marc Corio and Leroy Brown.
