Farnham Tops Tri-City Sprint Car Thriller

FRANKLIN, Pa. — Matt Farnham captured the victory at Tri City Raceway Park in thrilling finish in the Krill Recycling 410 sprint cars on Sunday night.

Farnham got by Michael Bauer on the last lap, while A.J. Flick was closing fast on them both.

Farnham and Bauer paced the field for the 25-lap Krill Recycling 410 Sprint Cars. Jeremy Weaver started third, with Gale Rulth, Jr. as his dance partner. Bob Felmlee and Dale Blaney made up row three.

A.J. Flick and last week’s winner, Carl Bowser, were in row four. Brandon Spithaler and Jack Sodeman, Jr. paired up in row five, with Dan Kuriger making his first 2024 start from the inside of row six. Next to him was Zach Morrow.

Bauer jumped out to the early lead, with Farnham close in second. Ruth, Weaver, Flick, and Blaney followed.

Before the racers settled in, there were a pair of cautions. When the race got going again, it ran the remaining laps without any further interruptions.

Bauer held control, and it appeared as though he might get his first win of the season at Tri City Raceway Park. But Farhnham kept chipping away at the lead. When Bauer got hung up behind a lapper, Farnham seized upon the opportunity to make his move. He scooted by Bauer heading into turn one on the final lap. Bauer tried to launch a counterattack in turn three on the final lap, but he could not hold his line.

Flick was also coming on at the end. He may have had a shot ant both Bauer and Farnham on the final lap, but the presence of the lapped car would have made such a move quite difficult. So, he settled for third with a lot of what ifs on his mind.

Blaney was fourth, with Ruth in fifth.

Roman Jones made a winning move in turns three and four on the final lap to score in the regularly scheduled feature for the Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprints. Jake Gomola won the make-up feature for that class.

John Mollick and Rod Laskey also smiled in victory lane for the 4 Your Car Connection RUSH Sprints and the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Pro Stocks, respectively.
